Note: open side of the cassette inlet is facing downward. Hang the pump on a worker’s belt, and clip the cassette holder in worker’s breathing zone. Turn the pump on using the on/off switch on the front panel. Feed the connector through the support plate of the holder and insert it into the OUTLET side of the cassette (image on the right). Your cassette assembly is ready.Ĭonnect free end of tubing to the pump. Take the cassette holder (left image) and place the cassette onto cassette holder with “open face” – open side of the cassette facing down. OSHA 42/47 methods require “open face” sampling where the inlet part of the cassette is completely removed. Dust is collected by the filter inside the sampling cassette, and clean air is removed from the cassette via the outlet port. Words “inlet” and “outlet” describe airflow direction through the sampling cassette, where air enters the cassette through the inlet port. The bottom part of the cassette (outlet) has a “wagon wheel” pattern. The picture on the left (above) shows inlet side of the cassette. Start preparation by removing red and blue stoppers from the inlet and outlet side of the cassette.
